Last week, I went to see Polysics live in San Francisco (few days after the Utada concert). The concert was located at a little venue called Bottom of the Hill in a sketchy-looking part of the city. Inside were dim lights (some Christmas lights hung around the stage), a bar on the right, and a narrow walkway in the back that opened up to a larger pool room. The opening bands were quite good- the second band's songs all sounded about the same, but their live was energetic and fun. The female vocalist really seemed to love her bubble gun and was obviously either drunk or high (or both) judging by the spacey way she talked. I haven't listened to many Polysics songs, but that didn't matter because they sounded AMAZING live! Though separated from the moshers by a row of lame people who didn't move to the wild power of their music, the live was still very fun overall. They were very interactive with the audience, and I could really feel their energy on stage.
-Updates-
I think everybody should take a 1/2 year or a year off at some point in their life.
I've been getting to work on time without caring much about what time it is. In the morning, I ride the 51 all the way to campus, reading Haruki Murakami's novel Norwegian Wood. I walk to work with no rush and without checking what time it is, and then I do some boring office work while listening to my ipod.
When I meet with people, I'm not in a hurry to leave to do work or go to class, and I can feel myself relaxing for once.
In my free time, I've been trying to draw more in my sketchbook. I figure it will be good practice just to draw as much as I can. I've only got one life to live- might as well squeeze out as many drawings as I can while I'm alive!
